This spirit of assessing and rejuvenating technology is what lies underneath the essence of Pragyan '06. Back with a bang, as one would call it, Pragyan '06 aims not only to promote the celebration of the spirit of technology, but, to hone the latent talent that still remains un-etched, un-earthed, un-framed. Pragyan '05 was an initiative towards this very immense cause of promoting the cause of celebrating technology. Pragyan '05 covered a wide spectrum of events from software presentations to robotics contests, from managerial ensemble to working model contests, from hardware designs and material science quests to a whole lot of thrilling events like paper presentations and Dexter's laboratory. If the days were sunny, the nights promised to be equally peppy with surprises like laser shows, scientific demos, hypnotism shows and movies!!! Eminent academicians and corporate experts showered their pearls of wisdom making the festival even more exhilarating.
About Pragyan '05 Our institute saw the first ever technical festival PRAGYAN being celebrated from 29th to 31st January 2005. The idea of the festival originated from the students who carried out the planning and organization, patronized by honorable Director Dr. P. Subramanian and closely guided by the members of the faculty advisory committee.
The festival was unique not only in the kind of events organized but also its scale and the magnitude of participation it drew. Enthusiastically supported by large corporate like IBM, the main sponsor, HP, the co-sponsor, TCS, Cognizant, Texas Instruments, Autodesk, Dell, Logic Info, L&T, Microsoft, Discreet, Masibus and The Hindu Education-Plus and many more, this festival was also unique in being mentored by our alumni in all possible ways.
Pragyan 2005 witnessed participation from 85 colleges (including IITs and NITs) from all over India and more than 1000 delegates and industry representatives. It comprised of 17 events and 35 different contests covering the entire engineering spectrum, the reports of which have been summarized here.
This festival amply demonstrated the creativity and organizational, capability of the students in our institute who successfully dealt with all the issues of maiden organization.
