Prawn cocktail or shrimp cocktail is a seafood dish, which is usually served as an hors d'œuvre.
It consists of cooked, peeled, chilled shrimp or prawns, leaf salad and cocktail sauce or sauce Marie Rose - a combination of mayonnaise and ketchup sometimes also known as Russian dressing.
Prawn cocktail is also a popular flavour of crisps, often sold in pink packets.

i found it better with prawns & no pepper but apart from that it was top notch it was so simple to make even my partner could make it i put spring onions in it aswell and its tastes even better.
I sauteed the prawns in garlic oil and substituted 2T of the mayo with horseradish.
