The President is the Head of State of the United Arab Emirates, the current President is His Highness SheikhKhalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan. Sheikh Khalifa became President on November 3, 2004 after his father and founder of our nation, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan died on the November 2. Sheikh Khalifa is also the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Supreme Council and Supreme Petroleum Council.The office is a de-facto hereditary of the Al Nahyan Royal Family.
