Prince Louis Ferdinand Oskar of Prussia (25 August 194411 July 1977) (German: Ludwig Ferdinand Oskar Christian Prinz von Preußen), also called Louis Ferdinand II, or Louis Ferdinand jr., nicknamed "Lulu", was the fifth of seven children of Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia and his wife Grand Duchess Kira of Russia and a member of the House of Hohenzollern. Louis Ferdinand was born in 1944 in Golzow, Brandenburg, and in 1967 he volunteered to serve in the West German Army (Bundeswehr) with the goal to become a reserve officer. In 1972 he started an apprenticeship at a bank and continued to serve his military duties on a regular basis. In 1977 he suffered a severe accident during military maneuvers when he got stuck between two vehicles.
