History Video games Daisy's debut appearance was in Super Mario Land as the princess of Sarasaland. Daisy was kidnapped by a despotic alien named Tatanga who wished to marry her and rule over Sarasaland as king. It was up to the player, as Mario, to rescue Daisy from Tatanga. During the game's ending sequence, Mario and Daisy appear to have a romantic interest in each other, but Luigi seems to be her interest now. Daisy's second appearance was in NES Open Tournament Golf, which placed her as Luigi's caddy. Her in-game appearance was virtually identical to Peach's due to the limited color palette of the Nintendo Entertainment System. After that, Daisy did not appear in another Mario game for over eight years, but was eventually brought back as a playable character for the Nintendo 64 game Mario Tennis.
