Shahzada (Prince) Karim Khan was the younger brother of Khan/King Ahmadyar Khan the last ruler of independent Balochistan (British occupation of Balochistan from 1840-1947). After British left Balochistan in August 1947 Khan Ahmadyar Khan declared the independence of Balochistan( on 15 August 1947). But Pakistan, which came into existence on 14th August 1947, pressured Baloch leadership to jion pakistan and threatened them( Baloch) with the use of military. Khan Ahmadyar Khan put this issue in Baloch assembly after much debate the Lower and Upper house of Baloch Parliament rejected the Pakistani claim.
In March 1948 Pakistani army srounded the Kalat city (capital of Balochistan) and attacked the Shahi Mahel (King's Palace) with Jets (WW2 model jets, leftover of Britishs), killing more than 50 Baloch soldiers, looted the Palace, taken the records from offices and arrested the Khan Ahmadyar Khan. The arresting of the Khan angred the Baloch people, but they had no weaponry as compared to Pakistanis. At that time Price Karim Khan was the governor of Makkuran province,he resented the occupation by taking arms (all of them Lee Enfield 303 rifles) against the Pakistani army. Price Karim setup his base camp in southern Afghanistan, there was a hope that Afghanistan will help the Baloch struggle but at the end nothing came. After some skirmishes with occupation forces, Karim Khan and his followers were occupied in Harbohee near Kalat with little fight they give up to Pakistanis. Karim Khan and his followers were imprisoned, Karim Khan was released after eight years in prison.
Prince Karim Khan's rebellion is thats why famous in Balochistan beacause people compare the resources on either side. And at that time there was no communication between Baloch papulation there were no roads and very very few vichels.Even religious leaders supported the cause of Karim Khan. One Maulvi (religious leader) declared that Punjabies( Pakistanis) are not Muslim.
