Encyclopedia > Project A

Jackie Chan's Project A (aka. Pirate Patrol, aka. Project A; Chinese: A 計劃) is a 1983 Hong Kong film starring Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung.

This film marked Jackie Chan's return to Asian cinema after his first unsuccessful attempt to get into Hollywood.

This film is famous for containing some of Chan's finest comedy moments and some of his trademark stunts, including some action gags reminiscent of the best of Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.

The film was released in a dubbed version by Disney in the USA.

Plot summary

The film is set at the turn of the century and stars Jackie Chan as the coastguard officer 'Dragon Ma' who is trying to fight against the pirates plaguing the area, along the way he teams up with the police officer Yuen Biao (who is a enemy during the first half of the film) and the petty criminal played by Sammo Hung.

Project - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (392 words)
The planning, execution and monitoring of major projects sometimes involves setting up a special temporary organization, consisting of a project team and one or more work teams.
The word project comes from the Latin word projectum from projicere, "to throw something forwards" which in turn comes from pro-, which denotes something that precedes the action of the next part of the word in time (paralleling the Greek πρό) and jacere, "to throw".
This use of "project" changed in the 1950s when several techniques for project management were introduced: with this advent the word slightly changed meaning to cover both projects and objects.
