Teams
PCD is known for its soccer, lacrosse and Mock Trial teams. The PCD Mock Trial team was the Rhode Island state champion and ranked 37th in the country in 2005 [2], and in 2006 was defeated by Wheeler School in the Rhode Island state championships. In 2006, the lacrosse team was ranked #1 in the state for the first half of their season, but the team fell victim to a sudden plague of injuries, and were unable to fully bounce back. PCD also has a very strong soccer program coached by Stacey DeCastro and his sister, Lina Maciel. This year, 2006, they won the "cardinal Diadora classic", They were the SENE Co-Champions, along with Moses Brown (the SENE league for some reason does not go to penalty kicks). They also made it to the semi-finals round of the NEPSACS, but were beaten in overtime in penalty kicks to postgraduate school Hebron Academy. Theater and Arts The PCD Players (PCD's theater troupe), presents a musical every spring and another play in the fall. Fall plays are written by a group of students in a summer workshop entitled "Page to Stage." "Page to Stage" has written four scripts, including one work about the Holocaust, "Mourning Light." [3] This last summer, "Page to Stage" wrote a comedic murder mystery that was produced by the PCD Players in November entitled "A Lethal Remembrance"[4].
