Ogliastra is a geographical and cultural region in eastern Sardinia, Italy. Sardinia (Sardigna, Sardinna or Sardinnia in the Sardinian language, Sardegna in Italian, Sardenya in Catalan), is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea (Sicily is the largest), between Italy, Spain and Tunisia, south of Corsica. ...


It is also the name of a proposed new province (Regional Law no.9 of 12th july 2001). Its administrative capital will be both Lanusei ("Lanuse'") and Tortolì.
