Prozzak was a pop music side project by two members of the Canadian band Philosopher Kings, James McCollum and Jason Levine, conceived as a lighthearted mockery of their own romantic troubles. They created the characters of Simon, who sang in a corny British accent about his failed romances, and Milo, who was his best friend and mentor in his search for true love; they starred together in a number of popular animated music videos.
They have released three CDs: Hot Show (1998), Saturday People (2000) and Ready Ready Set Go (2002). Ready Ready Set Go was a mix of the first two with one new song, made under the name Simon and Milo. A new CD is expected in 2005.
When the animated bandProzzak arrived on the scene in 1998, a Canadian musical phenomenon was born.
Prozzak was created by Jay Levine and James Bryan McCollum, two members of the critically acclaimed multi-platinum act The Philosopher Kings.
In 2000, Prozzak released their second album Saturday People that went platinum, producing two more hits, "www.nevergetoveryou" and Be As. It would garner them a further Juno nod for best pop album.
Despite a pyrotechnic feast for the eyes and rock-solid sound, cartoon characters Simon and Milo couldn't weather the storm that is soulDecision, Saturday night at a very sold-out Vogue Theatre in Vancouver.
It was the debut concert of a dozen-date tour that puts headlining Prozzak on a kid-friendly journey across the nation (winding up on Sunday, March 12 at the Juno Awards, 8 p.m.
It wasn't exactly a KISS concert, but Prozzak at times lit up enough flashing lights and pyro to drain a sizable hydro bill.
