The Puerto Rico Telephone Company (PRTC), also known as Puerto Rico Telephone (PRT) but locally referred to as La Telefónica in Spanish, was a telecommunications services company located in San Juan, Puerto Rico which operated for many decades offering telephone services for the island residents. It was a public corporation for many years until it was sold to GTE in the mid-1990s.
