The District of Pukë (Albanian: Rrethi i Pukës) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 34,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 1,034 km2. A senior official of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) earlier said Ramadan was captured by Kurdish fighters in the northern city of Mosul on Monday and turned over to US forces.
Another PUK official in Sulaimaniya, where Jalal Talabanis party is based, also confirmed the arrest of Ramadan, himself a Mosul native.
