Qiao Xuan is a character in Chinese literature. Qiao, a powerful duke from the Southlands in the epic novel Three Kingdoms, was father to Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao. Cao Cao, a friend of Qiao Xuan, heard of Qiao's two daughters and had planned to take their hands in marriege, but Da Qiao was wed to Sun Ce and Xiao Qiao was wed to Zhou Yu. Cao Cao's lust for them was said to be one of the factors influencing his decision to begin his first southern campaign, which culminated in the spectacular burning of the Wei navy by Zhou Yu's forces at the Battle of Red Cliffs.
