Quimbanda is an Afro-American traditional religion found in Brazil. It is found mostly in urban areas such as Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Maranhão and Pernambuco. It has wrongly been considered the counterpart to Umbanda but has been practiced in Brazil for much longer.
