A quintillion is a number written as either:

  • a 1 followed by 18 zeros (10 to the 18th power, as used in the short scale system of numeration.

or

  • a 1 followed by 30 zeros (10 to the 30th power, as used in the French system of numeration.

Long scale is the English translation of the French term échelle longue, which designates a system of numeric names in which the word billion means a million millions. ...
