Quneitra Governorate (Arabic: مُحافظة القنيطرة) is one of the fourteen governorates (provinces) of Syria. It is situated in southern Syria, bordering Lebanon. Its area depends of sources. It varies from 685 km² [1] to 1,710 km² [2]. Governorate has a population of 69,000 (2005 estimate) [3]. The capital is Quneitra. The Arabic language ( ), or simply Arabic ( ), is the largest member of the Semitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family (classification: South Central Semitic) and is closely related to Hebrew, Amharic and Aramaic. ...
