The RATP operates 75km of Line A (34 stations) and 40km of Line B (32 stations), which, at the same time, serve the local area and also connect with the Paris Metro and with numerous bus routes in suburbs.
Under the 4th FP, RATP participated to the OSIS European project and within its scope, has developed a prototype: “the hot smoke generating wagon” capable of generating smoke at 200°C (this wagon is used as a tool to validate the software being developed) and three tools to simulate fires of varying complexities (PHONENICS, FLUENT).
