Rabri Devi (born 1959) is the 30th chief minister of Bihar (Term: March 11, 2000 - 2005 (5 years)). She is from the Rashtriya Janata Dal. This is her 3rd term as Chief Minister of Bihar. She became the first woman chief minister of Bihar on July 25, 1997. As chief minister of Bihar, her first term lasted less than 2 years and ended on February 12, 1999 and the second term lasted less than 1 year from March 9, 1999 to March 3, 2000. The 2005 state elections ended in Bihar ended in a hung assembly. After weeks of political maneovuring the ruling UPA government advised the President to dissolve the House and call for fresh elections.
