Plot

Part of the story of this game is based on the original Double Dragon, especially the myth of the dragons being part of the humans destiny, as well as the 2 dragons, Red and Blue, who together can defeat the evil forces.

The story of this game happens in a fictional city named Sunshine City, which is a no man's land ruled by the law of the strongest (similar to Southtown in Fatal Fury series). In this city there is also a religion whose followers worship the Black Dragon, a sect with a rather large following. Their leader (soon known as Johann), possesses the spirit of the Black Dragon within. This list is of fictional cities: villages, towns, and cities that do not exist in the world we know. ... In the past, an old master of Sou-Setsu Ken and guardian of some of the Dragon Spirits had traveled to Sunshine City and made it his home. Knowing the power of the dragons and fearing that he would not find anybody capable of keeping the seals, he made the decision of inserting the spirit of the dragons into his most noble students. The old master adopted the Lewis brothers, Billy and Jimmy (both kids came from a violent family and escaped from their home) who had the Blue and Red Dragons in them respectively, and trained them in different disciplines. But the death of Mariah- Jimmy's girlfriend- separated the brothers and left them training individually. This is a list of characters appeared in the Rage of the Dragons fighting game. ... In the present, the old master gave his granddaughter Lynn Baker the White Dragon seal and taught her in this discipline. In time an old disciple of his challenges him (Johann "The Black Dragon"), however the old master dies before the fight. Lynn, after she escapes, felt the fall of a dragon and the rising power of a new one. This energy was felt also by the Lewis brothers who decide to return to the city, each one with someone by their side to learn what is going on, while the power of the Johann keeps growing more and more powerful. He decided to sponsor the Rage of the Dragons Tournament with all the world's powerful dragons fight. This is a list of characters appeared in the Rage of the Dragons fighting game. ...

Gameplay

Rage of the Dragons features tag team gameplay, this is a team of two characters that can be switched during the battle. The one that is not being used has his energy slowly regenerated. Also, there are special combos that make both characters attack at the same time, causing heavy damage to the opponent. A professional wrestling tag-team consists of two or occasionally three wrestlers who are working together as a team. ...

Each character is assigned an official partner. However, the game allows a player to pick any combination of characters. It is important to note that you will not view a canon ending unless you use a character combination that the game suggests.

During a fight, there is an auxiliary meter located at the bottom of the screen that slowly fills up when an attack connects with an opponent. When the meter is full, special moves can be performed (Ex: Counter Attacks, Super Moves, etc).

The game features fourteen playable characters and two bosses (Abubo and Johann). This is a list of characters appeared in the Rage of the Dragons fighting game. ...

The founder of the Cult of the Dragon was frustrated by the inability of the secret society, strong in magic but numerically weak, to stand against its foes, and by the reluctance of many evil dragons to embrace his vision of a future when they, as undead dracoliches, would rule supreme.
As the Rage of Dragons spread and worsened, chromatic dragons across Faerûn either succumbed to its effects and turned on whoever crossed their path or desperately embraced the Dragon Cult as an alternative.
