Tom Dowd produced 1972's self-titled debut from Ramatam, featuring co-author and guitar player of The Blues Image hit "Ride Captain Ride" Mike Pinera (later of Iron Butterfly) on guitar and vocals, Mitch Mitchell (late of The Jimi Hendrix Experience) on drums and April Lawton on lead guitar. The Blues Image is a late 1960s rock band whose only hit was the song Ride Captain Ride.
