Ramgarh Raj was founded in 1368 A.D. after a stand-off between Baghdeo (later Raja Baghdeo) and the Chota-Nagpur Raja. The Chota-Nagpur Raja had sanctioned two brother's (Baghdeo and Singhdeo) to restore order in 24 rebelious paganas (districts).
