Ramoth was from the last clutch of Jora's gold Nemorth and former Weyrleader R'gul's bronze Hath. Nemorth had previously been the weyrmate of the old Weyrleader S'loner's bronze Chendith, R'gul's Hath, and F'lon (S'loner's son) and his bronze Simanith. Jora was obese and stupid, and did little to contribute to the weyr. On her first flight, Ramoth was caught by F'lar's (F'lon's son) bronze Mnementh, and they hatched the next Pernese queen, Prideth, who was Impressed by the arrogant Kylara. She became the Weyrwoman of Southern Weyr, then High Reaches. Ramoth is the largest dragon on Pern. Some of the other dragons she has hatched are Lioth, Weyrleader N'ton's bronze; Arwith, Talina of Monaco Bay's queen; Beljeth, Adrea's queen; Mirrim's green Path; Jaxom's white Ruth; F'lessan's bronze Golanth; and Breda's Amaranth. Ramoth has always been flown by Mnementh since she was Hatched from Jora's Nemorth. Together, Ramoth and Lessa brought back the other Oldtime weyrs to save Pern. Her clutches are usually very large, the largest known being her first, with forty and a queen. Once, the Oldtimers actually stole a queen egg from her. Later, the egg was recovered and hatched into Beljeth. Her rider is known for temper and determination, but nevertheless Lessa is one of the most popular women on the planet. |
