Introduction
Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (Rapid KL) is a new company created under the restructuring of Kuala Lumpur's public transport system to operate the various modes of public transport in Malaysia's capital city.
Incorporated in July 2004, Rapid KL currently operates three light rail transit (LRT) lines: Kelana Jaya Line, Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line. Rapid KL also operates Rapid KL buses, which is made up for the routes operated by the former bus companies Intrakota and Cityliner.
It also operates feeder buses from many LRT stations.
Rapid KL is 100% owned by the Government of Malaysia.
Under the restructuring process, all public transport assets are owned by Syarikat Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (SPNB), which is also 100% owned by the government.
