Rathaus Spandau is one of the terminals of the Berlin U-Bahn line U7 (the other one being Rudow). It was opened on October 1st 1984 with the line's extension from Rohrdamm to Rathaus Spandau. It got its name, which means "City Hall Spandau" in English, from being in close proximity to the borough Spandau's historic city hall. Very close to the U-Bahn station Rathaus Spandau are also a station of the Berlin S-Bahn line S75 and a Deutsche Bahn station for regional and intercity transport.


The next station on the same line is Altstadt Spandau.

Spandau is the westernmost borough (Bezirk) of Berlin, situated at the confluence of the Havel and Spree rivers and along the western bank of the Havel.
The history of Spandau begins in the 7th or 8th century, when the Slav Heveller first settled in the area and later built a fortress there.
During the Ascanian Rule the construction of the Spandau Citadel began, which was completed between 1559 and 1594 by Joachim II of Brandenburg.
