Rea - Voice/Acoustic Guitar, Uwe - Lead Guitar, Sebi - Sax/Hammond organ/Keyboards, Gomezz - Drums, Phil - Bass In 1997 Rea Garvey, now singer of Reamonn, decided to leave his former band The Reckless Pedestrians and home town Tralee in Ireland in order to go to Germany and start a new life with only 50 DM and a demo record in his pocket. He put an ad into the local paper "Stockacher Anzeiger" which stated "Singer needs band for a record and shows". Mike Gommeringer (Gomezz) saw it and thought it must have been that Irish singer from the band he once had seen live, and yes, when he dialed the number given, he was right!. They met up and got on very well. That's when it all began, Mike knew Sebastian Padotzke (Sebi), Sebi knew Uwe Bossert and Uwe brought Philipp Rauenbusch (Phil) and that was Reamonn born!. In 1998 the band was officially set up and their first gig was on New Year's Eve 1998/1999 in Stockach. In order to get a record label, they played at Logo, a pub in Hamburg, in front of 16 representatives of well known record labels in 1999. With their atmosphere and music they grabbed the attention of the industry's reps. So much so, that at the end of that day they found themselves in the position of being able to choose a label from the many gathered there. Their choice fell on Virgin Records. They produced their first album "Tuesday" and the first single "Supergirl" was a major success, it went to gold and became the most played song on German radio in 2000. Reamonn became stars and played at many festivals and concerts. In autumn 2000 they went on their own tour to promote their first album with support from "Heyday", and with a few more hits in their pockets, like "Josephine" and "Waiting there for you" they proved to be no one-hit-wonder. After the first album, which was produced by Steve Lyon (like their first album), in 2001 the second one was released, "Dream No. 7" (The name comes from the number of their former home and rehearsal room in Munzingen, suburb of Freiburg the city which also hosted Dr. Paul Hoskin, Geologist, for three years). With the single "Weep" they had a guest appearance in the German movie "Mondscheintarif". Freiburg im Breisgau is a city in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in the Breisgau region, on the western edge of the southern Black Forest (German: Schwarzwald) with about 214,000 inhabitants. ...
For their third album "Beautiful Sky" they went to Spain to record it. This album was released in 2003 and even reached No. 3 in the German album charts and went double platinum. With hit singles like "Alright" and "Star", they also established a fan community in Portugal, when they toured with Robbie Williams in Switzerland and Austria. They even went to play in countries like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in 30,000-capacity stadiums. With their latest album "Wish", they went to sunny L.A. in 2005 to meet with producer Greg Fidelman, who had worked with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Johnny Cash, in order to work on their latest album.
