The Redwood River watershed is one of 13 major watersheds feeding the Minnesota River. The watershed consists of 703 square miles (1821 square kilometers). The river is located in southwestern Minnesota. Its source is in Pipestone County. It flows 80 miles (129 km) north and east though the cities of Marshall and Redwood Falls, where Redwood Lake, a reservoir is located 2 miles (3.2 km) from the spot where the river empties into the Minnesota River.
