Story

Reed Wolf started out as a fighter pilot, demonstrating exceptional talent. He came to be known as the "Dancing Black Death" for his successes in battle (no small feat when fighters of his day were, for the most part, no match for Mobile Suits). Like Zeon ace pilots (and legendary ace pilot the Red Baron), his fighters were painted in his personal colours. In his case, this was black. When the Earth Federation began fielding their own Mobile Suits, beginning with the RGM-79 GM, the Federation began retraining fighter pilots as Mobile Suit pilots. Reed Wolf was among them. Like many fighter pilots turned MS pilots, he preferred fast lightly-armoured units. He piloted a GM Cannon, then later a Mass Produced version of the RX-77 Guncannon before receiving a GM Sniper II. The GM Sniper II was one of the GM variants with power matching (if not surpassing) that of the Gundam itself. All his Mobile Suits were painted black, making him as easily identified by the Zeons as the Zeon aces like Char Aznable and Johnny Ridden were by the Federals.
