Reedy is a town located in Roane County, West Virginia. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 198.

Geography

Reedy is located at 38°53'56" North, 81°25'37" West (38.898895, -81.427037)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 198 people, 95 households, and 55 families residing in the town. The population density is 347.5/km² (897.0/mi²). There are 116 housing units at an average density of 203.6/km² (525.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.49% White, 0.00% African American, 0.51% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 95 households out of which 17.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.5% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 41.1% are non-families. 36.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 23.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.08 and the average family size is 2.73.

In the town the population is spread out with 14.6% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 20.7% from 25 to 44, 36.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 49 years. For every 100 females there are 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.7 males.
