Reichswald Forest War Cemetery - Veterans Affairs Canada (104 words)
The cemetery is situated in the centre of the Reichswald Forest and is approximately four kilometres from the border between Germany and the Netherlands.
General Crerar, the Canadian Army commander, said that none of his men would be buried on enemy soil, and his directive was almost completely carried out.
The Canadians buried at Reichswald are entirely airmen, with the exception of one Chaudière regiment soldier, whose remains were found in 1948.
