Navia came to Mexico in 2001, joining Tecos for the Spring season, and immediately started scoring, finishing the season with nine goals in 19 games. Navia would spend two years with Tecos, scoring 32 goals, before moving to Monarcas Morelia for the 2003 Clausura. Navia greatly impressed with Monarcas, scoring 25 goals over the Clausura and Apertura, before making another move, now to Club América. He scored 13 goals with América in the 2004 Clausura, but disappointed in the Apertura, scoring only two goals while fighting injury problems. Navia was than acquired by Monterrey from Club America at the end of Torneo Apertura 2005. After the 2006 Clasura, in which he scored 3 goals for the club, Navia was released and signed by San Luis at the start of the 2006 Apertura.
