The Scimitar had a similar design to the Klingon bird-of-prey. It was constructed at a secret base on Remus and became the personal flagship of Shinzon and originally, it was used as the secret flagship base of his army that invaded Romulus to liberate the Remans from Romulan oppression. It was one of the most heavily armed starship of the era. It carried 52 disruptor banks, 27 photon torpedo bays, and had primary and secondary shields. The greatest asset was the cloaking device. Not only could the Scimitar fire while the cloaking device was engaged, but it didn't give off tachyon emissions or residual antiprotons, like other Klingon or Romulan cloaking devices do, making it completely undetectable.
