The Republican Main Street Partnership is a group of social liberals and moderates in the United States Republican Party. This group tempers the dominant social conservatism within the Republican party with a platform of fiscal conservatism and limited government. History

Republican Main Street was formed following the 1994 Congressional elections in which conservative Republicans were swept into power. An informal discussion group formed by Reps. Nancy Johnson, Steve Gunderson and Fred Upton became a large group, forming a place for moderate Republicans to advance their agenda. The Republican Main Street is the rough equivalent of the Blue Dog Democrats, a group for conservative members of the Democratic Party, another group formed in the aftermath of the 1994 Congressional elections. RMSP has allied with other Moderate Republican groups such as Christine Todd Whitman's Its My Party Too, Ann Stone's Republicans for Choice, the Log Cabin Republicans, the Republican Majority For Choice, the Wish List, Republicans For Environmental Protection and the Kansas Traditional Republican Majority. In May of 2005 RMSP helped pass The Stem-Cell Research Enhancement Act in the House Of Representitives. 50 Republicans voted in support of the bill, the total vote being 238-194. It has yet to receive an up or down vote in the Senate.
