Early life and career
He has four brothers: Domingo, Algeria, Felipa and Margoth. at the age of 9 his family traveled from Los Guatacaros to Caño Morocho near of Zaraza, is there where at the age of 11, begins to share with regional musicians in parrandas and dances. At the age of 12 he composes his first song: “My First love”. At the age of 15 he makes debut in a dominical program of Radio Zaraza lead by Pompeyo Higuera “Caminitos de Zaraza”, soon he enters in the gaita grouping Los Bravos de la Loma for which he compose several carols and aguinaldos, under the direction of the teacher Jose Antonio Blanca of the Copleros of Unare. At the age of 16, participates in a contrapunteo festival that was made in the club the light and makes trophy and money from the attending public. With 17 years he travels to Caracas, he started to sing, in night clubs, but for the folkloric music, this kind of club were a few. His first goadfather (if therefore it is possible to be called to him) was Don Jose Romero Bello, singer and composer very respected and one of the first interpreter of “Florentino y el Diablo”,also next to The El Carrao de Palmarito.
