The Rhode Island General Assembly is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. The lower house, the Rhode Island House of Representatives has 75 members; the upper house, the Rhode Island Senate has 38 members.


The General Assembly meets in the state capital of Providence, Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island Society (RISSAR) is the state affiliate of the National Society.
On the first anniversary of the Society in 1891, a dinner was held to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the sailing of the first American fleet under the command of Commodore Esek Hopkins of Rhode Island.
The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution was organized on April 30, 1889 to “perpetuate the memory of those who, by their services or sacrifices during the war of the American Revolution, achieved the independence of the American people.” The Society's purposes are patriotic, historical and educational.
