A ribofuranose is an alternative name to the ring structure of ribose. This alternative name merely refers to the fact that ribose has a five membered ring consisting of four carbons and a oxygen. Ribofuranose is more of structural description than a name.
It is therefore subject of the present invention a process for the preparation of ribofuranose derivatives of formula(I): ##STR7##
Further subject of this invention are the ribofuranose derivatives of formula (I): ##STR11##
The mixture is stirred for 1 hour then slowly cooled down to 20° C. It is filtered under vacuum and the panel is washed with 10.38 Kg of toluene and with 6 Kg of hexane.
