Richard Bozulich was born in 1936 in Los Angeles, California. He attended UCLA and in 1966 graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a BA in mathematics. Bozulich had worked his way through college by dealing in highly technical used books and upon graduation decided to become a book publisher.
