Richard P. Ernst (February 28, 1858 to April 13, 1934) was a U.S. Senator from Kentucky who served from 1921 to 1927. He was a Republican. Ernst graduated from Centre College in 1878 and got his law degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1880. That year, he was admitted to the bar and began practicing law in Cincinnati, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky.
