After studying at the Actor's Studio in New York with Lee Strassberg, his first major role came as the character Michael in Martin Scorsese's classic film Mean Streets.
In addition to his acting, Richard started to pursue both music and writing and is credited as the composer on several films and has written, most recently, with his wife Anthea Sylbert.
