Rick Allen is a fictional character on the television series 24. He was one of Kim Bauer's kidnappers, along with his friend Dan Mounts, hired by Ira Gaines before Day 1. He ultimately helps Kim and her mother Terri Bauer escape, and gives them a gun. He is later shot during a shootout (that ensues after Jack shows up) between Jack and Gaines' men. Later on, Kim arrives at his house after the safe house where she was staying is hit. Day 1

Rick is one of the two guys that Janet York and Kim Bauer meet for what they think is going to be a party. Ira Gaines hired Allen and his friend Dan Mounts to kidnap Bauer and bring her to his compound so Gaines could force her father, Jack Bauer to assist in the assassination of David Palmer. When he learns why Gaines hired him, he starts to assist Kim and Teri Bauer, including getting them a gun. When Jack shows up on the compound, Rick is able to assist Bauer in helping his family escape. However, once he learns he will still probably go to jail, he makes a run for it and takes a bus home. Kim tries to convince Rick to do the right thing and turn himself in, but Rick, in several phone conversations refuses. When Teri and Kim are separated following a car crash, Kim turns to Rick for help and inadvertently becomes part of a drug bust. Rick's girlfriend Melanie is hostile to Bauer at first, but eventually helps Kim. It is likely, however, despite the fact that Melanie confessed about the drug deal, that Rick is either in jail or got out because of Melanie. However, even if Rick was sent to jail, Rick might have been released from jail at some point since it has been at least nine years after Day 1's conclusion.
