In 1996 the River Dane was a huge river that had clay islands in the centre and at the sides. During this time it had many holes in the sandy riverbed some more than a metre deep. The water was not very clean. This was because of the clay. It was overlooked by trees at the slope of a hill and did have a ropeswing overlooking it. Down at the River Dane, there was two 'sources'. The first of the left was very fast and rocky. It was dangerous to go too close as you could get swept away, while the second one was still a rapid flowing area, but not very rocky and steady. This was a safer area but the safest area was about a metre fro the bank. Warning! About halfway out (facing forwards) at a northeast(/) postion was a two metre or so deep hole that is very dangerous. Little children are advised not to go in but I must say I found the River Dane a very enjoyable River to swim in.
