Encyclopedia > River Loxley

The River Loxley is a river in South Yorkshire, England. Its source is north west of Sheffield, near Low Bradfield. It flows into the River Rivelin at Malin Bridge.


The river provided the initial course of the Great Sheffield flood, which happened after the Dale Dyke Dam collapsed shortly before its completion in 1864.
