Riverview is a town located in Escambia County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 99.

Riverview is located at 31°3'31" North, 87°3'24" West (31.058641, -87.056688)1.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²). 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 99 people, 43 households, and 30 families residing in the town. The population density is 93.2/km² (240.0/mi²). There are 48 housing units at an average density of 45.2/km² (116.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.94% White, 1.01% Black or African American, 1.01% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 1.01% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 3.03% from two or more races. 2.02% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 43 households out of which 23.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.8% are married couples living together, 14.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% are non-families. 23.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.30 and the average family size is 2.70.


In the town the population is spread out with 19.2% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 29.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 83.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.1 males.


The median income for a household in the town is $21,667, and the median income for a family is $22,083. Males have a median income of $26,250 versus $28,750 for females. The per capita income for the town is $13,783. 21.8% of the population and 28.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 15.4% of those under the age of 18 and 10.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

The Anniston Star - Facelift will match Riverview Plaza Hotel with Battle House (995 words)
The Riverview renovations will begin in late March and should be done by late 2006, according to Ron Blount, RSAÂ’s project director for the hotel renovations.
The total budget for the Riverview project, including the purchase of the hotel, was $45 million, according to Bronner.
While the Riverview and the Battle House will have Renaissance flags, the Battle House is expected to command higher room rates, in part because of amenities such as a spa and its larger rooms and baths, according to Bronner.
