Robert Earl Hughes holds the world record for heaviest human who ever lived, weighing 486 kg (1,071 lb). He achieved the world record on June 4, 1926.


Hughes was honored by the "snack rock" band The Go-nuts in a song named after him on a 7" vinyl record released in May of 1997 on Lookout! Records.
