Robert Foxworth also starred as Chase Gioberti, a man new to the area, having inherited a portion of the Falcon Crest vineyards and winery from his father, Angela's brother Jason, who died after a fall in the winery during the premiere episode.
Melissa herself died in a house fire shortly into the 1988-1989 season whilst the first episode of the 1989-1990 season saw Maggie killed in a freak accident, drowning in the Falcon Crest pool after her wedding ring was caught in a drain.

The actors, Rene as Grandfather and Uncle Roger, Mariette Hartley as his daughter, the mother of the narrator, Robert Foxworth as his son-in-law and the father of the narrator, Katherine Helmond as Grandmother and Aunt Fanny, and lastly Fred Savage as the narrator, Eddie.
Robert Foxworthy wore a navy blue pinstripe suit with a vest, white shirt and tie and old-fashioned high-ankled laced shoes.
Robert Foxworth turned in an effortless performance and had a lot of the plays funnier lines which he delivered with perfect timing and little aplomb, a style that I personally approve of.
