Robert Henry MacDonald was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1875. He was an architect and designed many landmark buildings in Canada. He articled to Richard B. Whitaker, M.S.A. of Melbourne. MacDonald went on to build the successful firm of G.A. Ross, R.H. Macdonald and Hugh Jones Architects in Montreal. MacDonald died in 1942.
