Robert Montgomery (actor) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (345 words)
Robert Montgomery, U.S.N.R. Commander (May 21, 1904 – September 27, 1981) was an American actor and director.
His daughter was actress Elizabeth Montgomery, who also died from cancer in 1995 at the age of 62.
Montgomery has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for movies at 6440 Hollywood Blvd., and one for television at 1631 Vine Street.

Montgomery attended the fashionable Pawling School for Boys in Pawling, New York and in 1918 was sent abroad to continue his studies in England, France, Switzerland and Germany.
Montgomery was retired from the Navy with the rank of commander.
Montgomery later described Ford as the "best (director) I ever worked with...he was a genius." And when Ford fell and fractured his leg before filming was complete it was Montgomery he called upon to finish the job.
