Plot summary

Detective Sergeant Christopher Kelvaney is a police officer who subsidizes his income with bribes and payoffs from various criminals and politicians. Kelvaney's brother Eddie, a rockie on the police force, is as honest as his brother is crooked. The younger brother witnesses a gangland murder; the killer goes to Kelvaney, demanding that be buy his brother off. When he realizes that his brother can't be corrupted, Kelvaney tells the Mob to lay off. An out-of-town torpedo is brought in to rub out both brothers, but he succeeds only in killing the honest sibling. His conscience aroused, Kelvaney goes after the mob leaders himself; though seriously wounded, he clears his family name.

The crusading, vigilante rogue cop/hero must erode his idealistic, law-abiding principles when he resorts to the unlawful tactics of the hoodlums after the tragic murder of his young wife by sadistic, viperous gang members led by a big-time crime boss.
These programs showed model cops, not rogues, following procedure to the letter, and always getting their "man." One of the ongoing myths fueled by such programs and similar films is that all crimes are ultimately solved, and perpetrators brought to justice.
However, if cops were depicted as bad, they were typically isolated as "rogue cops," thus freeing the rest of the force from taint.

They have a cop from the 3rd Precinct who is alleged to have been stalking a woman from the Dominican Republic who was too terrified of police to complain.
Today, the Nassau County Police arrested the rogue cop and after questioning, he would be paraded before the assembled members of the press as he was taken to arraignment court.
The cop's lawyer is a guy who is very knowledgeable in the ways of the media and will cooperate to a degree in allowing photographers to get some photos.
