The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles covers the City of Los Angeles as well as Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, California. With about five million Catholics in the diocese's juristiction, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is the largest diocese in the United States.
The Diocese of Los Angeles-San Diego was established on June 1, 1922, and was split into the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of San Diego on July 11, 1936.
The RomanCatholic Archdiocese of LosAngeles (Latin: Archidioecesis Angelorum in California) is a particular church of the RomanCatholic Church in the western region of the United States.
