Ronald Charles Brewer (b. September 16, 1955 in Fort Smith, Arkansas) is a former American basketball player. A 6'4" guard from the University of Arkansas, he was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 1978 NBA Draft. He spent eight seasons in the league with six teams -- the Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, New Jersey Nets, and Chicago Bulls -- and finished his career in 1986 with 5,971 total points. Ron Brewer was born in Gunning in 1921.
Ron was a great mentor to me in the pursuit of my goal, since 1996, of representing the people of the Goulburn district, and he was always a great source of advice since I achieved that goal in 1999.
Ron Brewer also served with honour in local government, being the mayor of Mulwaree shire until he was elected to the New South Wales Parliament.
