Ronsdorf is a district of the German town Wuppertal with a population of about 22.500 citizen. Ronsdorf was first mentioned in 1494 and in 1745 it received its town character. It was founded only a few years before by Elias Eller. Since 1929 Ronsdorf belongs to Wuppertal. Worth seeing places in Ronsdorf are the neo-gothic reformist church, the water supply dam and the huge shopping facilities around the "Ascheweg". One of Ronsdorfs most famous events is the annual folk festival called "Ronsdorfer-Liefersack". Beside local music, culture and fun rides the fair offers a big variety of culinary deliciousness like the original "Kottenbutter". With almost more than a dozen visitors per day the fair makes a great visual impact. That year the fair takes place in June (3.-5.06.).
